Nanotecture is developing a disruptive supercapacitor technology (the ‘Microbattery’) for portable electronics applications using the Company’s unique proprietary nanotechnology. Nanotecture’s Microbattery product achieves energy densities far higher than any commercially available device competing in the electronics market. This enables the Microbattery to be sized considerably smaller or power applications not previously feasible.
Target applications include providing power for high light intensity LED type camera flash units in mobile phones, increasing battery and fuel cell runtime/lifetime in electronics by levelling high power pulsed loads and power for smart cards.
Nanotecture is developing a second supercapacitor technology for use in hybrid electric and electric vehicles, power tools and niche applications. This technology exploits the flexibility of the Company’s low cost nanomaterials platform to enable a supercapacitor with high energy and power densities and the low cost required to impact these markets.
