This third annual UK NanoForum comprises a one-day conference and exhibition bringing over 100 senior international delegates from more than 20 countries, together with the best of the UK's nanotechnology community.
The event includes keynote addresses, themed workshops, innovation awards and an exhibition showcasing more than 50 UK nanotechnology organisations, a university poster exhibition and extensive partnering opportunities.
With a focus on trade, investment and collaborations, UK NanoForum 2008 will provide a networking forum for industry, academia, venture capitalists, technology purchasers and those seeking R&D joint ventures.
Business, Innovation Awards
This inaugural competition for UK delegates and exhibitors is to identify outstanding innovative organisations in the UK nanoscience and nanotechnology communities.
The Awards will showcase the very best of British innovation, across three categories:
The winning UK NanoForum delegate or exhibitor for each category will be presented with a winners Award, and an exhibitor pod on the UK Pavilion at Nanotech, Tokyo 2009 (courtesy of UK Trade & Investment) and a package of press and marketing support, including the production of a promotional case study flyer (courtesy of the NanoKTN). University Poster Presentations
For the first time at UK Nanoforum, University Poster Presentations will run alongside the main exhibition throughout the afternoon on Tuesday 28 October 2008. With over 300 UK and International experts in Nanotechnology attending, this provides an excellent opportunity for young scientists to talk about their research and develop future contacts. EPSRC will give prizes of £500, £250 and £150 for the three posters which show the best communications of basic nanotechnology taken through to application.

Breakout Sessions and Technology Pitches
Parallel breakout sessions covering the themes of Healthcare for the modern age, Clean technologies and Intelligent connected world will give UK nanotechnologists an opportunity to talk about their expertise and partnering requirements and provide a platform for discussion on how nanotechnology can meet these global challenges. A facilitated panel session will field questions from the audience.

Networking Tool
An online networking tool will be available to allow conference attendees to browse and search attendees and make contact before, during and after the event.
Benefits of using this system are:-
Following registration, you will be issued with a unique pin number* to allow access to the tool via the conference website. Once you are logged on to the system, you can edit your own profile, see current attendee list and make contact with other attendees.
By using the ‘Conference Mail’ tool, you can exchange emails without the disclosure of your personal email or telephone details.
Each attendee will be included on the networking tool unless ‘Opt Out’ is selected during the registration process.
