Business, Innovation Awards
For the first time, UK Trade & Investment are running a competition to showcase the very best of British innovation.
The competition, open to UK delegates and exhibitors of NanoForum 2008, will identify the most innovative organisations in the UK nanoscience and nanotechnology communities.
There are three categories of awards matching the key themes for the event:
Nanotechnology is a vital enabling technology for the future and these awards recognise the major steps towards real innovative applications. Our award partners represent major business interests and are well placed to recognise the opportunities in nanotechnology. UK Trade & Investment welcome their support and look forward to seeing UK excellence rewarded.
The awards will be presented at UK NanoForum 2008.
How to enter
UK organisations registering as UK NanoForum delegates and exhibitors are invited to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate how they have developed process innovations that have substantially improved the commercial performance or prospects of their organisation.
The deadline for applications is 30 September 2008.

Selection Process
Experts from UK Trade & Investment and our stakeholders, the Nanotechnology KTN and Nanotechnology Industries Association, will downselect three organisations for each of the Award categories.
These nine companies will be asked for a more detailed submission which will be offered to our Award partners to help select the final winners.

Requirement from the Winners
The winners of each category will be required to attend UK NanoForum 2008 to receive their awards and give a four-minute presentation during the plenary session on their winning strategy.
